Why this fund exists
Every donor who scans one of these codes is doing something specific: paying for a sensor that watches a glacial lake so a village downstream gets an hour's warning instead of none. Or a season of a school robotics club, so the engineer who eventually builds that sensor is Nepali. That's not a metaphor — it's literally where Stage One of this fund goes.
I've spent the last several years watching Nepal call outward for help every time a fire, a flood or an avalanche outruns what we can respond to ourselves. That's not a criticism of the help — it has saved lives. But it's slow, and it isn't ours to keep. RTDF is our attempt to change what "ours" means: technology designed for our terrain, built by our engineers, ready before the next disaster rather than after it.
